Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asserted that Operation Sindoor had powerfully demonstrated India’s unwavering stance against terrorism on the global stage, highlighting the nation’s growing self-reliance in defence technology.
Speaking at the centenary celebration of the historic 1925 conversation between Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Gandhi at Vigyan Bhawan, PM Modi emphasized that no place is safe for those who harm Indian citizens.
“Recently, the world saw India’s capability. Operation Sindoor made India’s firm policy against terrorism very clear before the world. We have shown that no place is safe for terrorists who spill Indians’ blood,” he said.
The Prime Minister credited India’s indigenous weapons and technologies for the operation’s rapid success, claiming that Indian forces subdued the enemy in just 22 minutes using Made-in-India defence systems.
“We are becoming Aatmanirbhar in the defence sector. Our forces forced enemies to fall to their knees in 22 minutes, with the help of Made-in-India weapons. I am confident that in the time to come, these weapons will be well-known across the world,” PM Modi added.
He underlined that India’s dependence on foreign defence imports is steadily decreasing, and the nation is committed to building its own robust and modern military infrastructure.
The remarks were delivered during an event commemorating the 100th anniversary of the dialogue between Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Gandhi, which took place at Sivagiri Mutt on March 12, 1925. The conversation had focused on social reform, non-violence, religious conversions, and the upliftment of the oppressed, during the Vaikom Satyagraha movement.
Organised by the Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust, the centenary celebration brought together spiritual leaders and civil society members to honour the lasting legacy of two of India’s foremost reformers, whose shared ideals continue to guide the nation’s social and moral direction.
